I have come to textile art late in my career as an artist and am constantly fascinated by the flexibility of stitch and fabric. I studied and worked at painting long before I took up hand and machine embroidery. 

Print, dye and stitch offer a range of techniques and materials with which to create subtle and symbolic images. Inspiration comes from the natural world,an event in history or a fragment of text. 

I find constant interest in the possibility of experimentation by mixing material and technique. An unexpected result can provide a glorious surprise. ‘I wonder what would happen if ….’ is the question often in my mind.
