Judith Gubbay

My first textile love is the age-old but contemporary craft of tapestry weaving, which I have been studying since the 1990s. I also like to use print, knit and stitch to tell stories inspired by my interest in art, travel, history and the world around me – natural and otherwise. Warmth and humour are important elements in my work, as are colour, texture and the use of less conventional materials and techniques.

My work has appeared in exhibitions at Kew Art Studio and at a number of  Carousel exhibitions, as well as at Morley College, where I completed the Textile Foundation course in 2010.
